The MRS Certificate in Market Research (MRS Certificate) is designed to recognise the range of knowledge and understanding required to:

  • understand the role of market research in decision making
  • understand the basic principles and processes which underpin effective market research
  • know how to choose the most appropriate method or tool for a project
  • understand the value of research information to the business or organisation.

Studying for this qualification will enable you to gain knowledge of market research that is vital to help businesses and public sector organisations make viable and appropriate decisions.

All successful candidates are awarded the MRS Certificate in Market Research, providing recognition of the individual’s knowledge and understanding of the basic principles and processes which underpin effective market research.

The MRS Certificate requires candidates to undertake a training programme e.g. Foundation Course in Market Research and then successfully pass an online multiple-choice examination.

The learning outcomes and content of the Certificate in Market Research are grouped into 3 elements:

  • Element 1: The basics of market research
  • Element 2: The tools used in market research
  • Element 3: Working with data

The assessment of all three units is integrated into a 1 hour online examination, containing 40 multiple-choice questions.

The exam is completed online and candidates can do this in a location of their choosing.

How long will it take?
It is recommended you undertake 45 hours of study to prepare for assessment for the Certificate qualification.

Please note, the MRS Certificate is an exam only. Candidates who wish to study a course towards the exam should book the combined Foundation Course and MRS Certificate exam option.

Registration and T&Cs:

  • Register and make payment online or request invoice via the ‘Book Now’ button.
  • Receipt of payment/invoice will be emailed to you.
  • On receipt of payment (within 24hrs), if  you have booked for the exam only, one of our team will be in touch regarding scheduling your exam.
  • On receipt of payment (within 24hrs) if you have booked the Foundation Course and MRS Certificate exam option, a confirmation email including access key and instructions will be emailed to you
  • If you have booked the Foundation Course also, you have 14 days from when the access key is issued to log  in to the course for the first time.
  • If you fail to log on within 14 days, you will need to re-register/re-pay.
  • After the first log in, you have 120 days in which to complete the course. Extensions will not be issued.
  • Refunds are not issued once the personal access key has been issued.
  • Access keys are non-transferable and can only be used by the candidate named on the booking.

Entry criteria
There are no minimum entry requirements for the MRS Certificate in Market Research.

Certificate Exam registration £155.00 + £31.00 VAT = £186.00.
Foundation course registration £300.00 + £60.00 VAT = £360.00

Individual Discount available if you book both the Foundation Course and the Certificate in Market Research at the same time: Combined Fee: £392.00 + £78.40 = £470.40

MRS Accreditation
MRS accredited centres are required to demonstrate that they meet rigorous standards in their administration, provision and delivery of courses leading to MRS qualifications.

The following centres have been accredited to offer the MRS Certificate in Market Research as part of an under graduate or post graduate degree programme.

Group Registrations
Employers/Institutions wishing to offer access to the online training Foundation Course in market Research and/or the qualification Certificate in Market Research to groups of their employees/students can do so via an agreement with MRS.
